COMPRESS® for IMS  and  COMPRESS® for DB2

NOTE TO USERS of COMPRESS® for IMS:

If you are migrating to, or using z/OS 1.9 or above,
you must be running COMPRESS® for IMS Release 6.104 or above.

If you have installed COMPRESS® for IMS Release 6.104 and you have noticed that the two load modules:

  • COMPRSIR
  • DBTCIMVI
are not included.  This is not an error.
  • COMPRSIR is superceded by DBTCIMIR; and
  • DBTCIMVI is not a callable module; it is included in our Fast Forecast® utilities.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

Please contact our technical support department here to obtain the latest copy of COMPRESS® for IMS.

Features Of Our COMPRESS® Line Of Products:

  • Very low CPU overhead:  in most cases, users see CPU savings due to I/O avoidance

  • Comprehensive utilities (included) predict space savings, performance, dynamic reconfiguration and more!

  • No ongoing tuning or manual adjustments - just plug it in and go!

  • No unloading-and-reloading when changing releases

  • Meets or exceeds every ISO standard for performance

Let's face it - you never have enough disk space.  If you want more disk storage, you can either buy more, or you can use what you have better.  We think we can help you use it better.

Our world-renowned COMPRESS® products help you improve your system performance while saving DASD space.  Many companies see space savings from thirty to seventy percent, but the best part is the improved machine efficiency.  Reduced response times, faster reorg and backup run times, and lower channel path / device loading are just some of the performance improvements also seen.

And the best part is the terms and conditions - like all DBT Products, COMPRESS® Products are non-tiered: one license for any size CPU, now and in the future.  No "upgrades" - ever!
